Ruby Hill is served by the Pleasanton unified school district, which has a long history serving the community, being established in 1867 (before the city of Pleasanton was even incorporated). It serves almost 15,000 students in the city of Pleasanton. The staff and teachers in Pleasanton average almost 18 years of experience in education, with almost 1/3 holding master's degrees. NOTE: Ruby Hill residents can attend either Valley View Elementary or Vintage Hills Elementary (subject to sufficient room in the school of their choice). The eastern portion of Ruby Hill has a joint enrollment agreement with the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District, where residents may attend either the Pleasanton or Livermore schools. Most residents choose to attend the Pleasanton schools.
